SPOTLIGHT: The Vancouver Public Library Staff Association
CUPE 391 has a long history of being associated with other organizations. The photo below, taken from the VPL Staff Association Activities scrap book from 1938, shows members of the Vancouver Public Library Staff Association, the forerunner to CUPE 391, doing a presentation for the British Columbia Library Association. Today CUPE 391 is formally affiliated with the following groups:
- CUPE - our national union
- CUPE BC - the provincial level of the union
- CUPE Metro - representing locals from the lower mainland
- BC Fed - the provincial federation of labour which represents the interests of CUPE and all other unions.
In the true spirit of solidarity, we support the labour movement locally, nationally and internationally.
